Ted Kirk draws deeply on his cigarette, rests his elbows on his splayed knees, and takes a long, sad look around. He is sitting in the once cluttered, now scavenged, showroom of his brother Jack's antiques shop in Center City. Hardly anything is left, other than a few cardboard moving boxes, a couple of dusty rugs rolled up like stogies, and some orphaned leaded glass windows.

Couple’s treasured antiques reduced to ashes in barn fire

Roadshow hits city in search of treasures
The North Platte Telegraph That box of junk in the attic could be worth a fortune. The Ohio Valley Refinery and Roadshow is in North Platte through Saturday and representatives say they expect to pay out $300,000 to area residents for gold, silver and antiques. Payments are made when items are sold, so there's no waiting for checks.
